Sex and relationship counselling in English

I am Jana Welch, a sexologist (M.A.) with a practice in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek. I work with individuals and couples, in person and online.

English is not a second language I manage in. I am half American, I grew up with it, and I am as much at home in it as in German. With something this personal, that matters: you can say it the way it actually sounds in your head.

Most people who come to me have been thinking about it for a long time before they write. That is the hardest part. What follows is easier than most people expect.

What I work with

Desire that has faded, or never really arrived. Wanting different things, or wanting them at different times. Sex and desire during and after menopause. Erection difficulties, or coming too quickly. Pain during sex. Sex after childbirth, once you have become parents. Shame about your own body. And very often: not knowing how to talk about any of it.

How I work

I look at the sexual question and at the relationship around it, whether you come alone or as a couple. You decide how far we go. You stay dressed throughout, and there is nothing you have to tell me before you want to.

Prices

First phone call, about 15 minutes: free of charge.

Individual session, 60 minutes: 140 euros.

Couples session, 90 minutes: 250 euros.

In my practice in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek, or online via Microsoft Teams. Payment in cash at the practice, or by PayPal for online sessions. I bill by the minute, so what counts is the actual length of the session. This is a private practice; German health insurance does not cover it.

Short vita

Master's degree in Sexology, Merseburg University of Applied Sciences. Systemic sexual therapy with Prof. Dr. Ulrich Clement. Integrative couples therapy. Certified practitioner in Positive Psychology (DGPP). Member of the German Society for Social Scientific Sexuality Research (DGSS).

Author of "Sex that connects" (Goldmann, 2024), an erotic playbook for couples with thirty adventures. Before all this, I produced television.
